This treatment from Animal Wellbeing targets the stubborn black‑green or grey algae known as black beard algae (Audouinella sp. and Rhodochorton) which can rapidly spread in freshwater aquariums, especially when plants are weakened and CO₂ levels are low.

The advanced formula contains pharmaceutical‑grade glutaraldehyde, aquatic stabilisers and pH buffers that work together to break down algae structures while maintaining fish, plant and ecosystem safety. Usage involves first performing a 40‑50% water change, then dosing the product as per the severity of the outbreak: for minor infestations use about 6 mL plus 2 mL per 100 L every second day; for major infestations 8 mL initial then 2 mL per 100 L every second day. If algae persists after 3 weeks, increase to 3‑4 mL per 100 L daily.
